The drilling lugs are included in Appendix 1, n1, this report. <br />' All soil samples collected for lahorator�- analysis were retained, undisturbed, in the brass <br /> liners. The liners were sealed at the ends with Teflon tape, capped, %-rapped with duct tape, and <br /> I labeled. The samples were stored in a cooler chilled with ice and delivered, under chain-of-custody <br /> procedures, to GeoAnal}'tical Laboratories in Modesto. California. <br /> The soil cuttings from the borings and steam cleaning effluent were placed in 55-gallon drums, <br /> scaled, labeled. and left on site pending laboratory analyses. Disposal of hazardous materials, if any, <br /> is the responsibility of the property owner. <br />' 3.3 Monitor Well Construction <br /> The monitor wells were constructed %N ith 2-inch O.D., Schedule 40, flush-threaded, machine- <br />' slotted PVC screen (slot size 0.020) extending, from a depth of approximately 5 to 15 feet bgs for <br /> MVI'-1, approximately 3 feet to 13 feet bgs for MW-2 and MW-3, and approximately 4 feet to 14 feet <br />' bgs for MW-4. A flush-threaded PVC bottom cap was placed at the bottom of the screen. dank <br /> PVC casing Aas installed above the screen to the ground surface. The well casing was steam-cleaned <br /> on site prior to use. No glue or solvents were used in the construction of the wells. <br />' A sand pack of##3 Monterey sand was placed in the annular space to approximately one foot <br /> above the screen. Approximately two feet of bentonite pellets were placed above the sand in MW-1 <br />' and one foot of bentonite pellets in MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4 to form a protective seal. The <br /> bentonite was hydrated using potable water. A seal of neat cement was poured in the annulus from <br /> the bentonite seal to the ground surface. A locking, traffic box was installed at the ground surface at <br /> MW-1 and 114W-4.
