ftp <br /> 06 February 2004 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 01-0865 <br /> Page 3 of 9 <br /> MTBE utilizing a 1,000 pound vessel containing SunSolve, apatented material that has an affinity <br /> to absorb MTBE, a final stage will utilize a 1,000-pound GAC vessel to ensure elimination of all <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon products A schematic diagram of the GAC/SunSolve ground water <br /> treatment system is depicted in Figure 3 The estimated usage of filtration media based on ground <br /> water data collected to date is estimated at 27 pounds per day for GAC and 20 pounds per day for <br /> SunSolve, additional information is in Appendix A It is estimated that the break through time for <br /> each 1,000-pound vessel of GAC will be 37 days and 50 days for the 1,000-pound SunSolve vessel <br /> Tenninology <br /> 14 Site Characteristics <br /> The property is currently occupied by BT M, which consists of multiple floating structures on the <br /> Little Connection Slough, as well as two buildings and a large asphalt parking lot Currently, two <br /> 12,000-gallon above ground storage tanks are in use at the site One tank contains gasoline, the <br /> second is compartmentalized into one 5,000-gallon gasoline tank, one 3,000-gallon gasoline tank, <br /> one 3,000-gallon diesel tank and one 1,000-gallon oil tank The tanks are connected to dispensers <br /> by piping contained in a concrete-lined trench A site plan depicting ground water monitoring wells, <br /> . the ground water extraction well, ground water treatment system, flow path of the proposed <br /> discharge and site boundaries are depicted in Figure 2, a schematic diagram of the GAC/SunSolve <br /> ground water treatment system is depicted in Figure 3 Diagrams of the extent of petroleum and fuel <br /> oxygenated-impacted ground waterhave been included in quarterly ground water monitoring reports <br /> as well as in Additional Soil and Ground Water Investigation Report, dated 11 April 2003 <br /> 15 Sensitive Receptors <br /> Condor Earth Technologies,Inc (CET)conducted a sensitive receptor survey,including a water well <br /> inventory, within a 1,000-foot radius of the site in 2000, CET did not observe any water wells or <br /> schools within the search radius In addition,other than the Little Connection Slough,island drainage <br /> channel and the drainage ditch bounding the west, south and east portions of the site, respectively, <br /> no surface water bodies were observed (Figure 2) <br /> 1 b Anticipated Ground Water Treatment Discharge <br /> Ground water will be extracted from extraction well EW-1 at a pumping rate between 2 and 5 <br /> gallons per minute (GPM), utilizing a dedicated, air-driven (pneumatic) submersible pump and <br /> routed through 2-inch diameter PVC piping to the multi-media ground water treatment system at a <br /> total treatment rate of approximately 2 to 5 GPM Following treatment, water will be discharged <br /> utilizing 2-inch diameter PVC underground piping at 2 to 5 GPM into the agriculture drainage ditch <br /> immediately east of the marina, the drainage ditch is owned by Henry and Vivian Rurup The water <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc <br />
