30 July 2003
AGE-NC Project No 01-0865
An Iso-concentration map illustrating the approximate distribution of dissolved MTBE is depicted
on Figure 6
TAME was detected in the samples collected from wells MW-2, MW-3, MW-6 and EW-1 at
concentrations ranging from 28 µg/1 in MW-6 to 320 11g11 in MW-2
No other fuel additives were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the ground water
samples Previous and current ground water analytical results are summarized on Table 2 The
laboratory report(CTEL Lab ID No 0306-070-1 through 0306-070-10),QA/QC report and chain-of=
custody form are included in Appendix C
3 3 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SURFACE WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in the surface water samples collected from the east and west ends of the island
drainage channel (II)CE and IDCW) at concentrations of 130 µg/1 and 170 µg/1, respectively
MTBE was detected in the surface water samples collected from IDCW at a concentration of
160 µg/1
No other fuel additives were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the surface water
samples Previous and current surface water analytical results are summarized on Table 2 The
laboratory report(CTEL Lab ID No 0306-070-11 and 0306-070-12), QA/QC report and chain-of-
custody
hain-ofcustody form are included in Appendix C
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the findings from this investigation, AGE concludes
• The ground water flow direction of first ground water on 11 June 2003 was inferred to be
towards the southeast under an average ground water gradient of 0 040 feet/feet(Figure 3)
The ground water flow Inferred from the deep-screened (50 feet to 60 feet bsg) wells was
northeast but under a much shallower average gradient of 0 002 feet/feet (Figure 4)
• TPH-g was detected in the ground water samples collected from MW-2 through MW-6 and
EW-1, TPH-g concentrations Increased compared with data from the previous quarters
• One or more BTEX compounds were detected in the samples from wells MW-3, MW-4,
MW-6 and EW-1 Benzene and toluene were detected at concentrations above Califomia's
• Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLS)
Advanwd GeoEnvironmentai,Inc
