Gomes 2 m vating <br /> Herman 6 Helea's Marina <br /> Havembet 10, 1991 Page-2- <br /> The final dimensions of the tank excavation were <br /> approximately 13 . 5 feet by 50 feet with a total depth of <br /> approximately 8 feet (Figure 2) . The investigation was performed <br /> at the request of Mr. Jim Wilson of Gomes Excavating. <br /> 2 .0 INVESTIGATION <br /> Marc Crum of Condor was on site to collect soil samples <br /> following the removal of the tanks . Carol Oz of the San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Division was on site to observe the <br /> tank removal and sampling procedures . The tanks were rusted on <br /> the bottom and a small hole was located on the north end of TK3 . <br /> No holes , cracks or leaks were noted in either TK1 or TK2 . <br /> The soil at the site consisted of brown, silty, clayey sand. <br /> Petroleum odors and petroleum staining were apparent in the <br /> exc ration at the north ends of TK1 and TK2 and at both the north <br /> and south ends of TK3 . No groundwater was encountered in the <br /> excavation. The excavation was backfilled with the excavated <br /> soil following sample collection. <br /> 2 . 1 Soil Samples <br /> Six soil samples were collected from the excavation. Two <br /> soil samples were collected from beneath each former tank <br /> location at a depth ranging from nine to twelve feet. The <br /> samples were labeled 294Q-TK1-N-11, 294Q-TK1-S-11, 294Q-TK2-N-12 , <br /> XA�- <br /> CONDOR <br />
