As a
condition to your approval of the Work Plan you requested that the source of drinking water for the
above referenced facility be sampled, that a receptor/water well survey be conducted, and that additional
soil borings be installed. A completed Soil Boring Permit was also requested. This addendum addresses
those requests.
The source for Herman&Helen's drinking water is an inlet pipe located beneath a dock in Little
Connection Slough. The water is treated with a reverse osmosis/membrane style filter system. Figure 1,
attached, shows the approximate location of the inlet pipe and the water treatment system. Concurrent
with the field work described in the above referenced Work Plan,Condor will collect a water sample
from the raw water inlet port located at the water treatment system. The water will be allowed to run for
at least five minutes prior to sampling. The water sample will be analyzed for the gasoline additives/
oxygenates by EPA Method 8260. The water sample will be collected, handled, analyzed, and reported
as described in the Work Plan.
Condor will complete a survey of the area to identify any users or receptors of ground or surface water
within a 1,000 foot radius of the site. Potential sources of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination will
also be identified, if possible, during the search. The findings of the survey will be included in the report
prepared for the investigation described in the Work Plan.
The installation and sampling of five soil borings were described in the above referenced Work Plan.
Four additional soil borings will be installed, as requested. The borings will be located as shown in
Figure 2, attached. The borings will be installed and sampled as described in the Work Plan.
It should be noted that all of the borings proposed in the Work Plan and this addendum are not located on
Herman & Helen's Marina property. Mr. Jerry Matthews of Herman and Helen's Marina indicated that
ENVIRONMENTAL GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING GEOTECHNICAL
http://wew+.condorearth.com
