Mr. James A. Levy • i - 2 - ` i9 August 2004
30 August 2003 spill. However,we are concerned that continuing hits of TPH in the storm water
indicates that either the drop inlet was not adequately cleaned or that additional petroleum contamination
exists in the soil at the UPRR rail yard. UPRR needs to re-wash the drop inlet and culvert, and
subsequently re-sample water from the culvert for TPHd. UPRR also needs to provide Regional Board
staff with an inventory of existing'drop inlets, a map showing the drainage patterns from the Stockton
yard and site features such as maintenance facilities and storage tanks, a description of storm water
runoff management practices, and a proposal to monitor runoff from the yard at discharge points to
surface water courses.
By 27 August 2004,please submit a schedule to develop a work plan to provide the above information.
The work plan should be developed in general accordance with Items To Be Included With A Site
Assessment Work Plan, which is attached for your convenience.
