The purposes of the waste characterization are to: 1)classify
the excavated soil waste as either hazardous or nonhazardous waste;and 2)if the soil is determined
to be nonhazardous, evaluate the waste for acceptance by Allied Waste disposal facility(formerly
Forward landfill)in Stockton, California, a Class lI nonhazardous waste disposal facility.
SCOPE OF WORK
We understand that potentially up to 4,000 cubic yards of soil would be excavated throughout
the entire site, except for the parking lot supported by the wood pilings since the Stockton
Channel is beneath this portion of the parking lot.
