San Joaquin Street
Stockton, CA 95202
Dear Ron:
Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with Russ Juncal and
me on March 17 . As we discussed at that time, now that the Central
Stockton Redevelopment Plan has been adopted, we have a number of
projects underway. Given past uses on the land - in the Central
Stockton area, we are anticipatingll that many, if not nearly all,
parcels will have some contamination. -
I am very interested in getting better acquainted with you and your
staff so that we can provide information to you at a time and in a
way which is most useful and which :'can expedite processing to the
extent possible. As you know, thelicombination of the perceptions
of downtown (which makes developers somewhat skittish) and the
general skittishness of conventional lending institutions due to
the current regulatory climate } make downtown_ a difficult
development prospect at best. When we have prospects ready to
commit to development, we want to be sure that we do all that we
can to minimize their processing time. We really appreciate your
willingness to help with this.
Right now we have two projects we are particularly concerned about.
First is the Weber Poi o ert bouRded by We ,
Channel and El Dgrggo_StrePtg. As we discussea, soil mitigation is
underway ere; ancl we would like to talk to you and your staff in
a little more detail regarding that site. We have an absolute
timeline from a lender which will approach very quickly. The
secogg is Banner Island, in the long-time ownership of the City of
S occ on and current-ty under discussion for two development
projects. Lab testing on our soilysamples from recent borings is
currently underway. As soon as welihave some draft data from that
exploration, it would be very helpful to have the opportunity to
talk with members of your staff who might work with -us on the
mitigation plan.
5
Again, your time and assistance are: really appreciated. We have a
.4
"STOCKTON...CALIFORNIA'S SUNRISE SEAPORT"
