 , - - '- • - _ mak_ • - -`R r
C
A"
F.
,R
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report summarizes the results of a soil vapor extraction
test (VET) conducted at the Weber Point property, 141. North £l
Dorado Street in Stockton C?`. (Figure 1). The test was conducted
an April 25 and 25, 1991 by RESNA\WaterWork Corp, Testing was
performed under the guidelines of the San Joaquin County Air
Quality Management District.
2.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The objectives of the VET are two-fold, (1) to evaluate the
feasibility of using vapor extraction as a soil remediation
alternative, and (2), to provide data c,zcessary for the design of
an efficient remediation system, including the selection of an
appropriate off-gas treatment alternative.
The test program at the subject site.consisted of the following:
* A 350 minute constant rate test using well VP2 for extrac-
tion and wells VP1, VP3, 14W1, MW2 and MW3 for observation;
i
* A 2.50 minute constant rate test using well VPI for extrac-
tion and wells VP2, VP3, MW1, MW2 and ITV13 for observation;
* Collection of a total of 6 vapor samples from wells VP1,
VP2 and VP3.
The wells utilized in the testing program consj.sted of 3 vapor
extraction wells (VP1, VP3) and three groundwater monitoring
wells (MW1, MW2, MQ). Although analyzabj a data were obtained
" from all of the wells, only four were subjected to analysis.
This is because wells MW2 and MW3 are within 10 feet on vadose
wells VP2 and VP3 and do not provide appreciably different data.
- The three vadose zone wells are constructed of 4 inch PVC and
i were installed for Facential future use during soil remediation.
These wells are screened from approa:imately 5 to 30 feet below
grade.
The locations of all wells at the site are shown on Figure 2.
3.0 TEST INSTRc3 ,ENTATI0N
The constant rata tests were conducted with a 5 horsepower Rotron
blower to provide vacuum at the extraction wellhead. Air flow
rates were calculated from velocity measurements monitored at the
- -- - ---- -fiowlire usin -- - , - j
g-a pitot tube. Zhe pressure different.-al --a-t the
axtrartion and observation wells was measured with magnahelic
gauges:` Temperatures in the flowline were recorded with a.mer-
` _ cury thermometer.
l _
