Clayton
owRov,lo'T AL
knows that the building contains asbestos-containing construction materials, to provide
a specified, written notice to all employees, tenants, and contractors within a
prescribed time period.
In summary, building owners are required by law to:
• Provide specified written notification of known asbestos-containing materials to
employees, tenants, and contractors.
• Post notification of cancer risk in areas where individuals are exposed to airborne
asbestos fibers.
• Comply with OSHA asbestos regulations, including employee permissible exposure
limits.
• Follow U.S. EPA National Emissions Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (40
CFR 61, Subparts A and M) during maintenance or renovation activities which
might disturb the asbestos-containing materials.
3.5 DRINKING WATER
At the request of Mr. Blake, the drinking water onsite was sampled and analyzed for
total lead. A water sample was collected from the sink faucet on the first floor. The
sample was transported to Clayton's certified laboratory in an ice chest, accompanied
by a completed chain-of-custody form. The sampled water was analyzed for total lead.
Lead was not detected in the sample. Analytical results are included in Appendix A.
The California Department of Health Services maximum contaminant level (MCL) for
drinking water is 0.05 mg/L. Water containing contaminants exceeding the maximum
contaminant levels presents a risk to the health of humans when continually used for
drinking and culinary purposes (California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 4,
Chapter 15, Article 4, Section 64435).
4.0 REGIONAL FINDINGS
Clayton reviewed information on nearby sources that could pose a potential threat to
the subject site.
