I would like to discuss the Den's Auto
site with you. We received the 30 August 2011 San Joaquin County EHD directive letter for the
site.
The main items in the letter are as follows:
1. The EHD approves the work plan for an ozone injection pilot test at the site.
2. The EHD directs the work plan be submitted to the Regional Board so they can evaluate
the need for a WDR permit
3. The EHD states that based on the results of the pilot test, the ozone system may need to
be redesigned to address other areas of;concern (MW-2-from 25 to 45 feet)
4. The EHD directs that all minerals and metals required by the Regional Board's WDR
permit be added to the analytical list already proposed.
5. The EHD directs a HHRA, residual contamination should be compared to ES Ls and
CHHSLs for direct exposure and gross contamination. Any exceeding ESLs and CHHSLs
should.be evaluated using a`Tier 2 Risk Assessment to determine if the site will qualify as
low-risk
6. The EHD directs evaluating potential risk of vapor intrusion and if additional data is
needed prepare a work plan to collect soil-vapor samples.
7. The EHD directs collection of ground water samples for analysis from the water wells and
irrigation well within 1,000.feet of site.
8. The EHD also directs - provide an estimate of the time required to achieve water quality
objectives.
10/4/2011
