The EHD has recently approved preparation of a corrective action :plan for the site.
Based on the contaminant concentration trends and levels in the source area, it is the opinion of
the EHD that work should continue on the corrective action plan for possible implementation.
As it is very difficult to get work done.on a site once the CUF recommends that the-site be closed,
the EHD requests you to reconsider or delay your closure recommendation while the EHD
addresses the issues noted above. While the CAP is in preparation and monitoring of the new
wells is completed for a hydrologic cycle, the EHD will consider site for closure and will direct
submission of an HHRA, a.vapor intrusion evaluation, verification of the presence and sampling of
any nearby water supply wells, and a projection of the time requiredto achieve WQOs.
Questions or comments should. be directed to Vicki McCartney at (209)'468-9852 or to Nuel
Henderson at(209) 468-3436.
Sincerely, /
Victoria L.
