INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with your request, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared the,_ <br /> enclosed Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report (PIER) for Den's Auto Repair at 308 <br /> South EI Dorado Street in Stockton, California The scope of work included the advancement of four <br /> soil probe borings,the installation of three dual-completed ground water monitoring wells and the <br /> collection and analysis of soil and ground water samples The site and its surroundings are illustrated <br /> on Figure 1 -Location Map Locations of structures and monitoring wells on the site are illustrated <br /> on Figure 2 - Site Plan <br /> ` The work was performed in-accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board guidelines for- investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br /> -2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 21 ' SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is Iocated in an commercial/industnal area of south Stockton at the southeast corner of the <br /> intersection of South El Dorado Street and East Lafayette Street A single structure is located on the <br /> property and is currently occupied by an auto`repair facility <br /> 22 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> On 25 and 26 May 1995, four USTs and associated piping were removed from the site by Valley <br /> Environmental Solutions(VES)of Stockton, California One 8,000-gallon regular gasoline UST,one <br /> 7,000-gallon gasoline UST and one 5,000-gallon gasoline UST were 'removed from a large <br /> excavation located north of the building, a single 500-gallon waste oil UST was removed from an <br /> excavation located on the south side of the building Upon reffioval of the USTs, soil samples were - <br /> collected from beneath each UST, dispenser area, piping areas and from excavated soil Total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g)'were detected in the soil samples at <br /> concentrations as high as 9,100 part per million(ppm)in sample TK3-N,collected from the northern <br /> boundary of the property Table i summarizes the soil sample results ' <br /> Based upon the results of the UST sampling, the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) the local oversight agency for UST-release <br /> • investigations has required additional investigation of the site to determine the lateral and vertical <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> i <br /> 4 <br />
