During theA6=lition, an
underground storage tank was located under the sidewalk along El Dorado. A permit
was applied for, the tank was removed, and the"soil was tested per your d'epartment's
protocols. Tests of the it and the stockpile, performed by Twining Laboratories,
p P ,; .
showed nondetectable levels for benzene, toluene, ethyl-benzene, and.,xylene (BTEX);
methyl tertiary butyl-ether (MTBE); and total petroleum hydrocarbons, asoline and
diesel (TPH-G and TPH-D), While preparing to backfill, a second tank.was located.
`immediately to the north of the-first tank. This second tank was-situated-under'the
sidewalk in an east-west alignment, and immediately adjacent to EI Dorado Street.
i Again, permits were applied for, the tank was removed, and soil tests were performed
per your department protocols. The location of these tanks corresponds with an old
auto repair shop that hasn't been in business for over twenty years.
Twining 'Laboratories performed the soil tests of the second tank as well. Their results
showed, again, nondetectable levels for BTEX, and MTBE. TPH-G and TPH-D were
detected at the eastern end of the tank location at 78 milligrams per kilogram"(mg/kg)
and 62 mg/kg, respectively. A composite of the stockpile removed from the hole'tested
for TPH-D at only 21 mg/kg. Additionally, all tests for metals, for both sites and the
` stockpiles, were, within expected ranges for dirt. Your department currently has a copy
of the Twining Laboratories test results-
i
"STOCKT0N...CAL1Fr3PjN1A'S SUNRISE SEAPORT"
