(BFS) has retained Orion Environmental Inc. (Orion) to <br /> conduct groundwater assessment activities at the former BFS facility at 400 North E1 <br /> Dorado Street in Stockton, California (the site; Figure 1). This document summarizes the <br /> activities conducted in April 2001 to delineate the nature .and extent of impacted <br /> groundwater at the site. <br /> This report has been prepared in accordance with a meeting between BFS and Orion <br /> with the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (S)CEHD) and Central <br /> Valley Regional Water Quality Control-Board (RWQCB) on 7 March 2001 and Orion's <br /> Work Plan for Groundwater Assessment dated 23 March 2001 . During the subject <br /> meeting, BFS was requested to install one more groundwater monitoring well <br /> downgradient from the source area and sample for gasoline constituents. The following <br /> paragraphs provide a description of 'the site, summary of previous investigations, <br /> reporting of groundwater well installation and monitoring, revised mass calculation, and <br /> (r, rationale for site closure. <br /> Site Description <br /> The site is the former location of an automobile gasoline station that operated during the <br /> 1920's and 1930's. After this period the site was used as a retail tire and automobile <br /> service center: In 1967, four. underground storage tanks (USTs) were closed in place by <br /> F filling the tanks with sand. In 1991, one of these previously closed tanks was removed <br /> from the site along with eleven other USTs previously located at the site. The remaining <br /> tanks .include: Tank #1 and #3 (7,500-gallon capacity each) and Tank #2 (550-gallon <br /> capacity). <br /> i' <br /> ° SABFS\ST0CKT0N\LTR\LTR008.000 5/1/01 <br />
