Mr. Harlin Knoll, 1110/96, p. 2
During the remedial activity, seven welts were installed at the site. Two of the wells
were used for vapor extraction; the other five wells were used as monitoring points.
On November 8, 1995, a crew from Spectrum Exploration, Inc., abandoned all of the
wells. In consultation with you, it was agreed that pressure grouting would be an
appropriate abandonment method for each well. Prior to grouting, the flush mount
cover over each monitor point was removed along with the uppermost portion of the
PVC casing. Each well was then pressure grouted with Calaveras, Type 1-II, cement
slurry. A copy of the Driller's Daily Report, which documents the well grouting, is
attached for your records.
On November 9, 1995, the city sidewalk was restored, and all trash and debris
generated from the closure activity were removed from the site. Copies of pictures
documenting the sidewalk restoration, as well as the closure procedures, are attached.
If you require additional information, please call me at 303-427-4567.
Sincerely,
RYAN-MURPHY, INC.
John E.
