Phase II Limited Subsurface Investigation
WARNER PROPERTY
520 North EI Dorado Street, Stockton, California
INTRODUCTION
The subject property is located at 520 North EI Dorado Street, Stockton, California, on the
northeastern corner of the intersection of East Fremont Street and North EI Dorado Street.
The subject property is a 0.780-acre, square-shaped parcel developed with an
approximately 11,220 square foot building. The western portion of the building is single-
story while the eastern portion of the building has two stories. Currently, the property is
unoccupied. The location of the subject property is depicted in Appendix A, and prominent
features on the subject property are depicted in Appendix B.
Historical occupancy research of the property identified the site as the former location of
a gasoline station and, prior to the 1950s, a tannery. No records were identified that
indicated any investigation had been performed at the site; either for the gasoline station
or the tannery.
SOIL PROBE BORING ADVANCEMENT
On 10 November 2011, six soil borings (B1 through 136) were advanced at the subject
property, under San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) Permit
SR# 63855. A copy of Permit SR# 63855 is provided herein. Borings 131 through 133 were
advanced in the parking lot in the southwestern portion of the property, and borings 64
through B6 were advanced along the eastern property boundary. Approximate boring
locations are shown on the Site Plan provided in Appendix B.
The soil borings were advanced to depths of approximately 20 feet (B2, B3 and B5) and
30 feet (131, B4 and B6) below surface grade (bsg), utilizing a CME 75 truck-mounted drill
rig to drive 1.25-inch diameter probing rods and sampling tools to specified depths. The
drill rig and two-person crew were supplied by All Well Abandonment, of Diamond Springs,
California. Soil cuttings generated by drilling were containerized in properly labeled
Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved model 17H 55-gallon drums and were
stored on-site.
SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION
Continuous soil samples were collected in 4-foot intervals using a 1.5-inch diameter
macro-core sampling assembly loaded with one 4-foot acetate liner. After collection, the
ends of a separated, 6-inch portion of the acetate liner were covered with Teflon sheets,
capped and sealed with tape. The sleeve was labeled with soil boring location, depth, time,
date and sampler's initials and then placed in a chilled container. Soil samples were
Advanced Gcu Envirunmental,Inc.
