01 November 2011 <br /> AGE-NC Project No. 11-2006 <br /> Page 2 of 7 <br /> 3.0. ON-SITE CONTROL <br /> The Site Safety Officer will coordinate site access control and security. An exclusion zone <br /> will be established approximately 10 feet around excavation. No unauthorized person shall <br /> be allowed within this exclusion area. <br /> 4.0. HAZARD EVALUATION <br /> The following substance(s) or hazards are known at the following concentrations: <br /> SUB STANCESINVOLVED: I CONCENTRATIONS: <br /> Volatile Organic Com ounds VOCs unknown <br /> The primary hazards of each are identified as follows: <br /> 1. Hydrocarbon fuels- Components of fuels are colorless liquids with strong aromatic <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon-like odors. They are flammable and have low solubility in <br /> water. Exposure to these materials in excess of recommended exposure limits can <br /> cause mild eye, nose, and throat irritation and can produce a narcotic effect on the <br /> central nervous system. Symptoms of exposure at these concentrations include <br /> headache, nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, and loss of coordination. Certain <br /> components of gasoline (BTEX, etc.) are known or suspected carcinogens. <br /> The additional potential hazards include:Slip-trip-fall hazards, noise, heavy equipment(i.e., <br /> mobile drill rig), vibration hazards, traffic hazards, etc. <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
