Phone numbers for local agencies <br /> and emergency responders are listed in section F. <br /> Local Emergency Responders Contact: Upon implementation of the emergency action plan,by <br /> dialing 911 the local agency responders (Montezuma Fire District, City of Stockton HazMat <br /> Team/Emergency Services, Stockton Police Department, and/or paramedics)will be notified and <br /> respond to the incident as appropriate. SDS information shall be provided whenever feasible in the <br /> event of a chemical spill or exposure. <br /> Before the commencement of operations, the customer will notify local Police and Fire Departments, <br /> and will be provided with site maps, information on the materials that will be handled,and evacuation <br /> routes. Phone numbers for local agencies and responders are listed in Section 14.3 of this plan. <br /> 6. GENERAL SAFETY RULES & EQUIPMENT <br /> Eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing of gum or tobacco will not be permitted in the "hot zone." <br /> All personnel shall remove all contaminated protective equipment before leaving the "hot zone." <br /> Personnel must thoroughly wash hands and arms before eating, drinking, smoking, or using the <br /> restroom. <br /> The facility site map (Attachment A) identifies the locations of emergency equipment; see section 12 <br /> for detailed list of onsite emergency equipment. All personnel shall know the whereabouts of <br /> emergency eye wash equipment, fire extinguishers, emergency signaling devices (horns), and <br /> supervisory personnel who can provide first aid and additional safety equipment. The fire <br /> extinguishers on-site will be used on equipment or small fires only. <br /> Upon recognition of a potential explosion hazard, work in the affected area shall cease until all <br /> tools/equipment in use in this area are assured to be spark proof and/or explosion resistant,and proper <br /> bonding/grounding procedures can be assured. <br /> Personnel should be aware of and follow any additional safety rules specified by the sponsoring <br /> agency. <br /> 7. DELINEATION OF SPECIFIC AREAS <br /> All personnel will become familiar with the location of each area and the specific operations performed <br /> in each. Each area is overseen and managed by a dedicated supervisor. <br /> 7.1 TRAFFIC FLOW/UNLOADING <br /> The traffic flow pattern is designed to optimize the unloading of waste materials as expeditiously as <br /> possible and distribute waste materials to the appropriate location for eventual final handling. Workers <br /> shall utilize caution when moving waste materials between areas and across lanes of traffic. As safety <br /> precautions,the following will apply: <br /> Page 11 of 41 <br />
