4. Conduct or assign employee to conduct a head count at the assembly point after <br /> an evacuation to ensure that all employees have safely evacuated and ascertain <br /> that no injured employees are still in the building. <br /> 5. The result of the head count will be communicated directly to the Emergency <br /> Coordinator. <br /> 6. Alternate EC will ensure that employees remain at the assembly point until <br /> authorities arrive and personnel have been instructed to leave. <br /> 7. Provide the Emergency Coordinator with further evaluation of the magnitude and <br /> severity of the incident. <br /> 8. Oversee emergency response personnel at or near the scene of the incident. <br /> 9. Oversee the necessary defensive measures to stop or contain the spill or fire. <br /> 10. Oversee clean-up. <br /> 14.2 EVACUATION PROCEDURES <br /> 1. Employees must evacuate the building under the following circumstances: <br /> a. Whenever the air horn is sounded three consecutive long blasts. <br /> b. Whenever a verbal announcement is made to evacuate the facility. <br /> c. Wherever an emergency is encountered that requires evacuation, such as a fire, <br /> explosion or chemical spill. Note: The fire detection system in this building is <br /> heat activated. In the event of a fire, an alarm will sound and the fire suppression <br /> sprinkler system will activate automatically. <br /> 2. Employees should evacuate the building in a safe and quick manner, exiting at safe <br /> location away from emergency situations (fires, explosions). <br /> 3. Employees shall evacuate all general public at the facility to the assembly point. Persons <br /> should leave vehicles and turn off all engines. <br /> 4. Depending on the magnitude of the emergency, other nearby businesses/offices should <br /> also be contacted for possible evacuation. <br /> 5. After evacuation, all evacuated persons shall congregate at the assembly point identified <br /> in the daily safety meeting, or as otherwise indicated on the facility evacuation route map <br /> posted in the facility. To ensure all persons have evacuated the building,the Alternate <br /> Emergency Coordinator or his/her designee will conduct a head count at the assembly <br /> point. All persons shall remain at the assembly point until the EC has signaled it is clear <br /> to leave and/or return to the site. <br /> 14.3 EMERGENCY ESCAPE ROUTES <br /> 1. Emergency escape route maps are posted conspicuously throughout the building. <br /> These routes should be utilized whenever an emergency evacuation is required. <br /> 2. The facility evacuation route maps include the following information: <br /> a. Escape routes from various locations of the building. <br /> b. Locations of all fire extinguishers, first aid kit, eye washes, spill equipment. <br /> c. Employee assembly point(Entrance Gate) and alternate assembly point(Exit <br /> Gate) on 7850 S. R.A.
