INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the request of Stockton Plating,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc , (AGE) has
prepared this Quarterly Report of ground water monitoring activities performed at 632 South El
Dorado Street, Stockton, California (the site) This report details the collection of ground water and
purged water samples from the site on 16 December 1996 The site and its surroundings are
illustrated in Figure 1 - Location Map The locations of structures and monitoring wells at the site
are depicted in Figure 2 -Site Plan
Monitoring and sampling procedures were performed in accordance with guidelines established by
the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD) and
the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for investigation of
underground storage tank (UST) sites
Background information, including details of previous site assessment work, was presented in
previous quarterly reports and in the Corrective Action Plan - December 1995, prepared by AGE
2.0. PROCEDURES
21 MONITORING WELL PURGING PROCEDURES
On 16 December 1996, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water
in all monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-4) and vapor wells screened in ground water (VW-1
through VW-4) at the site The relative ground water elevation in each monitoring well and the
hydraulic gradient were determined from these data points
After ground water depth measurements, a minimum of three well volumes of water were removed
from wells MW-4 and VW-1 through VW-4 using a two stage submersible pump Approximately
ten gallons of water were removed from each well to stabilize temperature, pH, and conductivity
Well parameters were measured at regular intervals using an ICM water analyzer Monitoring well
stabilization data and field data sheets are included in Appendix A Purged water was stored on-site
in 55-gallon drums
22 GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
Water samples were collected from each purged well (MW4 and VW-1 through VW-4) using new,
clean disposable plastic bailers Immediately upon retrieval, the samples were transferred into 40-m1
