'
_ s
03 March 1999
AGE-NC Project No 95-0142
d` Page 6 of 7
TBA was detected in vapor well VW-4 at a concentration of 47 ,ug/1
Analytical results for the ground water samples analyzed by EPA Methods 8015 Modified and 8020
' are summarized in Table 4 Analytical results for the ground water samples as analyzed by EPA
Method 8260 Modified are summarized in Table 5 The laboratory report (MAI Laboratory I D
Nos 00077 through 00084), quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) report and chain-of-
custody form are included in Appendix D
' 4.0. CONCLUSIONS
Based on data collected from the site, AGE concludes Y
• Soil impacted with TPH-g and BTEX was detected in the soil boring at depths of 55 feet bsg
' and 60 feet bsg TPH-g in soil was limited to depths above 60 feet bsg BTEX was detected
in soil to total depth of 80 feet bsg
• DIPE, ETBE, MTBE, TAME, TBA were not detected in any of the sample collected from
' the soil boring
• Ground water flow direction was toward the east from the former UST TK 1-90 at a average
gradient of 0 001 feet/feet
• Ground water levels were above the screened intervals of ground water monitoring wells
' MW-1, MW-2 and,MW-3, these wells may not be adequate to characterize the shallow
dissolved-phase hydrocarbon plume The well screen intervals of wells MW-4, MW-5 and
vapor wells ,VW-1 through WV-4 were adequate-to characterize the dissolved-phase
' hydrocarbon plume I I , x
• Detectable concentrations of hydrocarbons were present in samples collected from the down
i
' gradient wells MW-4 and. MW-5 The concentration of TPH-g and benzene in wells MW-3,
MW-4 and MW-5 and vapor wells VW-2 and VW-4 have increased over the last quarter,
while the dissolved hydrocarbon concentrations decreased in vapor wells VW-1 and VW-3
The highest concentration of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons continues to be in the area
,of the documented release (vapor, well VW-1), located immediately adjacent to the former
TK1-90 UST ! f r
1 • MTBE and TBA were detected in the ground water samples collected from, the site
' Ground water at a depth of 75 feet bsg, in the area of the documented release located
immediately adjacent to the former TK1-90 UST, has been impacted by petroleum
hydrocarbons
' Advanced GcoEnvironmental,Inc
