4.2 CONTAMINATION ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES <br /> Condor installed three groundwater monitoring wells over 9-10 February 1994 These wells <br /> were sampled for the first time on 22 February 1994 The results of the assessment activities <br /> ' were detailed in a report issued by Condor on 19 April 1994 <br /> The next assessment activity was conducted by RFA on 24 October 1994 as a quarterly <br /> monitoring event to sample the three existing wells This report details the results of this <br /> sampling event <br /> 4.3 CONCLUSIONS <br /> 4.3.1 GROUNDWATER OCCURRENCE <br /> Groundwater was found to occur at an average depth of 46 26 feet BGS duringthe <br /> initial <br /> sampling event conducted by Condor on 22 February 1994 Gradient was calculated by Condor <br /> to be N 72 E as of 2 March 1994 <br /> Groundwater was found to occur at an average depth of 47 44 feet BGS during the sampling <br /> I event conducted by RFA on 24 October 1994 Gradient was calculated by RFA to be N 62 E as <br /> of 24 October 1994 (Figure 3) Groundwater elevations and gradient were therefore in <br /> reasonable agreement between the two sampling dates <br /> 5.0 QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING <br />' To date, two sampling events have transpired at the Site The first event occurred shortly after <br /> the three wells were installed by Condor (22 February 1994) The second event occurred on 24 <br />' October 1994 when RFA sampled the three existing wells <br /> The initial samples collected by Condor were analyzed by GeoAnalytical Laboratories in <br /> 1 Modesto, California Analyses conducted were TPHg by 5030/LUFT, TEPH by 3510/LUFT and <br /> BTEX by USEPA 602 <br /> The samples collected by RFA were analyzed by California Laboratory Services (CLS) in <br /> Rancho Cordova, California Analyses conducted were TPHg by 503018015, TEPH by <br /> 3510/LUFT and BTEX by USEPA 602 The reporting limit for TPHg at CLS was 0 05 mg/L, a <br /> factor of 10 improvement over the first sampling/analysis event Reporting limits for both <br /> laboratories for benzene was the same at 0 3 ug/L <br /> 5.1 GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELL SAMPLING AND ANALYSES <br /> Before conducting sampling operations, each well was checked for the presence of floating <br /> product using an electrical interface probe No floating product was observed in any of the <br /> monitoring wells <br /> 366-001 _6_ <br />
