1 <br /> Exploration may continue downgradient of the MW-4 target location if groundwater conditions <br /> so warrant Three tentative locations have been selected on the bank of the Mormon Slough, <br /> however it is anticipated that obtaining permission to install these wells may be problematical <br /> 2.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> tThis document reports the conduct and results of quarterly groundwater monitoring and <br />' sampling/analyses performed by Roger Foott Associates, Inc , (RFA) at Stockton Plating <br /> Incorporated (SPI), 632 South El Dorado Street, Stockton, California (the Site) (Figure 1) <br /> The work reported here was accomplished under a contract to provide for a single sampling event <br /> of the existing wells to establish the present groundwater conditions with respect to gasoline <br /> range hydrocarbons and groundwater flow directions prior to initiating further assessment or <br /> remedial actions <br /> This document reports the first quarterly groundwater sampling event conducted at the Site since i <br />' the three existing wells were installed in February 1994 The first quarterly sampling event took <br /> place on 24 October 1994 <br /> This document is divided into nine sections Section 1 presents a summary of the quarterly <br /> groundwater monitoring and sampling/analyses event Section 2 presents an introduction and <br /> describes the contents of the document Section 3 describes the Site and its operations Section <br /> 4 describes the conduct and results of underground storage tank removal, and soil and <br /> groundwater contamination assessment activities, previously undertaken at the Site Section 5 <br /> 1 describes the conduct and results generated by the quarterly groundwater monitoring and <br /> sampling/analyses event Section 6 presents conclusions based on the results of the quarterly <br /> groundwater monitoring and sampling/analyses event Section 7 summarizes the status of <br />' assessment activities undertaken at the Site during this quarter Section S presents the schedule <br /> for conducting the remaining quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling/analyses events <br /> Section 9 outlines the limitations under which the groundwater monitoring and <br />' sampling/analyses event described in this document was conducted and reported <br /> 3.0 FACILITY DESCRIPTION <br /> The Site is located in an industrial portion of west Stockton and is situated between the Santa Fe <br /> Railroad and the Mormon Slough The land use in the area historically has been industrial and <br />' commercial There is an abandoned linen cleaning facility located immediately to the east of the <br /> Site <br />' 366-001 -2- <br />
