FINDINGS
' 3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND DIRECTION
Depth to ground water at the site t anged from 24 20 feet to 25 34 feet below the tops of the well
' casings The relative ground water elevation (based on an arbitrary benchmark) in the shallow
scr eened wells i anged from 73 70 feet to 75 27 feet The actual ground water elevation at the site in
the deeper screened wells ranged from 12 09 feet to 12 42 below mean sea-level (MSL) The
' elevation and gr ound water depth data is depicted in Table 1
s
During the June 2000 monitor ing event, ground water flow drr ectton in the shallow ground water
' table was toward the south with an average hydraulic gradient of 0 005 feet/feet, and toward the
southeast in the deeper gi ound water table with an average hydraulic gradient of 0 004 feet/feet The
relative elevation of the ground water sur face at the site is illustrated on Figure 3 and 4
11
3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
1 ,
TPH-g was detected to samples collected fiom wells MW-6, VW-1, VW-3 and VW-4 at
concentrations tangrng from 60 micrograms per liter (ug/l) to VW-4 to 140,000 µg11 in VW-1
Benzene was reported in samples collected from wells MW-6 and VW-1, VW-3, and VW-4 at
1 F
