t04 May 2005 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0142 <br /> Page 2 of 9, <br />' Effluent SVE stream soil-vapor samples were collected on 15 December 2004, 18 January, <br /> 25 January, 17 February and 17 March 2005 The soil-vapor samples were collected in Tedlar vapor <br /> bags using a vacuum pump attached to the SVE effluent stream The samples were labeled,placed <br />' in a pre-chilled cooler and transported under chain of custody to McCampbell Analytical,Inc (MAI) <br /> The samples were analyzed for <br />' • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8015 Modified, and <br />' • Volatile aromatic hydrocarbons benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) <br /> and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8020 <br /> 1 <br /> 22 GROUND WATER TREATMENT OPERATION <br />' The ground water treatment system is designed to operate at a maximum flow rate of up to <br /> 10 gallons per minute (GPM) Ground water is extracted from the primary extraction well EW-1 at <br /> a flow rate of approximately 2 GPM,in addition,ground water is also being extracted from the deep- <br /> screened casing of dual-completed vapor wells VW-1 and VW-3, at a maximum flow rate of <br /> 125 GPM <br />' The ground water treatment system operates on a batch basis, once the holding tank fills with <br /> sufficient water, approximately 75 gallons of extracted ground water are treated and discharged <br /> Since only 14,000 gallons of treated water(effluent)may be discharged daily to the City of Stockton <br /> sewer system, the effluent discharge was adjusted at a flow rate not to exceed 10 GPM <br /> In order to verify and quantify the mass of contamination from each extraction well and to comply <br /> with the requirements of the City of Stockton discharge permit, monthly monitoring and sampling <br /> of influent and effluent ground water was performed on 15 December 2004,25 January, 17 February, <br /> I 17 March 2005 The samples were collected in laboratory-supplied 40-milliliter(ml)Environmental <br /> Protection Agency (EPA)-approved volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials containing 0 5 ml 18% <br /> hydrochloric acid as a preservative and 1-liter amber bottles without preservative, and then labeled <br /> with the sample designation,date,time,and sampler's initials The labeled samples were logged on <br /> a chain of custody form, placed in a chilled container and transported to MAI, a California <br /> Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for analysis <br /> The samples were analyzed for <br /> TPH-g and TPH-diesel (TPH-d) - effluent by EPA Method 8015 Modified, <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
