Dear Ms Duncan <br /> Ground Zero Analysis, Inc (Ground Zero) submits this report on behalf of Mr Gene Gabbard to <br /> summarize the installation of four groundwater-monitoring wells and to present the analytical <br /> results of soil and groundwater samples collected at the subject site (Figure 1) The work was <br /> conducted at the request of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services/Environmental Health ' <br /> Division (PHS/EHD) to further evaluate the nature and extent of soil and groundwater <br /> contamination associated with a former underground storage tank(UST) <br /> 1.0 SITE BACKGROUND <br /> 1.1 Site Description and Previous Investigations <br /> The site currently houses a specialty automotive sales and service center Previous site occupants <br /> operated one 250-gallon UST for storage of waste oil The former UST was located <br /> approximately 90 feet south of the Park Street entrance and approximately 50 feet west of the <br /> entrance to the alley that borders the east side of the building Figure 2 shows the location of the <br /> former UST The UST was removed under permit from PHS/EHD on March 26, 1997 A soil <br /> sample collected from beneath the tank contained elevated levels of petroleum hydrocarbons, <br /> lead, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) Analytical results of soil samples collected <br /> beneath the former UST are summarized in Table 1 <br /> In subsurface investigations conducted to January 1999 and October 1999, a total of eight soil <br /> bonngs were advanced in the vicinity of the former UST to investigate the vertical and lateral <br /> G 1DaWGROUHDZEIGABBARDVeprnis\WELLRPT doc <br />
