29 August 2001 <br /> AGE-NC Project No, 98-0426 <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br /> AGE, it was decided to change the location of boring "A" to define the eastern extent of <br /> contaminated soil and ground water(see Figure 2). In October,boring B-9,one of three soil borings <br /> proposed in AGE's Work Plan Addendum-May 2001 and approved by the PHS-EHD by letter dated <br /> 30 May 2001,will be sited to replace boring"A"; it wi 11 collect a water sample at approximately 60- <br /> foot depth to test for vertical extent of impacted ground water. <br /> Soil samples will be collected from each boring at five-foot intervals beginning at 5 feet bsg. <br /> Following installation,the wells will be developed and the casing elevations surveyed.The wells will <br /> be added to the existing ground water monitoring well sampling program. <br /> Detailed field procedures for the installation and sampling of the monitoring wells were given in the <br /> 116nitoring Well Installation Work Plan,dated 29 July 1999,prepared by AGE and approved by the <br /> PHS-EHD by letter dated 03 August 1999; the monitoring well constructions were illustrated in <br /> Figures 3 and 4. <br /> If you have any questions or comments, please contact our office at (209) 467-1006. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. <br /> Calvin F.
