Advanced �. <br /> GeoEnvironmentall, Inc . ✓� <br /> 03 April 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No. 98-0426 <br /> _ Mr. Jeff Wong <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> _ Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Subject: Monitoring Well Abandonment Work Plan <br /> CHARLIE'S DAY AND NIfTE <br /> 706 N'ordt El Dorado Street., Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr. Wong: <br /> At the request of Mr. Charles Skobrak of Charlie's Day and Nite,fldvanced GcoEnvironmental,Inc. <br /> (AGE) has prepared the enclosed work plan for the abandonment of five ground water monitoring <br /> wells at 706 North El Dorado Street, Stockton, California (the site). <br /> In accordance with San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) and California <br /> Regional Water Qual ity Control Board requirements,all wells must be properly abandoned to obtain <br /> final site closure. Abandonment procedures will be scheduled upon approval of this work plan. <br /> INTROD C!CTTON/BACKGROUND <br /> Five two-inch diameter ground water monitoring wells (MW-I through MW-5) located at the site <br /> _ were part of subsurface investigation of the former underground storage tank(UST)area. The five <br /> ground water monitoring wells were installed to depths of 35 feet below surface grade (bsg). The <br /> monitoring wells were installed using 8.25-inch diameter hollow stem augers. The location of the <br /> _ site is illustrated in Figure 1. A site plan showing well locations is illustrated in Figure 2. A well <br /> construction diagram is included as Appendix A. <br /> — PROCEDURES <br /> Each well casing and filter pack will be removed by overdrilling utilizing a truck-mounted drill rig <br /> equipped with 8.25-inch hollow stem augers. Following removal of the well casing and filter pack, <br /> each boring will be backfilled to near surface grade with grout. The grout mixture will consist of <br /> Type I/1I portland neat cement and not more than 6 gal Ions of water per 94-pound sack of cement. <br /> 8j; Sh;i4v Ro,id, �tOckion. <br />
