_ I
I
21 June 2002 t
AGE-NC Project No 98-0426
1 4 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES'
I
TPH-g was detected in the ground water samples collected from MW2 and MW3 at concentrations
of 230 micrograms per liter(µg/1) and 210 µg/l, respectively
Benzene was detected in the samples collected from MW3 at a concentration of 4 0 µg/l
Ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected at concentrations as high as 5 3 µg/1 (MW2) and 18 µg/1
(MW3), respectively
MTBE was detected in the samples collected from MW4 and MW5 at concentrations of 0 64 µg/1
and 2 1 µg/1;respectively No other fuel oxygenates were detected above laboratory reporting limits
in any of the ground water samples collected
The current and historical ground water analytical results are summarized on Tables 2 and 3 The
laboratory report(MAI Lab IDs 0205185-001 through 0205185-005),chain-of-custody form and the
laboratory QA/QC report are included in Appendix B
s
s
5 0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected during the second quarter 2002 monitoring event, AGE concludes
• Ground water flow at the site was toward the north-northeast with an average gradient of
0 003 fl/ft Except for the one reversal in flow direction during the first quarter 2002
monitoring period, ground water flow has consistently been towards the northeast
• TPH-g was detected in the ground water samples collected from wells MW2 and MW3 at
' concentrations of 230 µg/1 and 210 µg/l, respectively, TPH-g concentrations have remained
relatively stable since monitoring began in October 1999 , ,
• Benzene (4 0 µg/1)was detected in the sample collected from well MW3, which is slightly
above California's Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for benzene of 1 0 µg/1
Ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected in the samples collected from wells MW2 and
' MW3
• MTBE was detected in the samples collected from MW4 and MW5 at concentrations of
' 0 64 µg/1 and 2 1 µg/1, respectively, which are below California's Secondary MCL of
5 0 µg/1 MTBE has been detected only sporadically at the site since monitoring began in
October 1999
' MTBE and other fuel oxygenates were not detected above laboratory reporting limits in wells
MW1, MW2 and MW3
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
1 k ,
