The San Joaquin County <br /> F, Environmental Health Department approved placement of the <br /> proposed soil borings around the TK1--90 site and at the same time <br /> t requested that additional investigation be conducted at the TX1- <br /> �i <br /> 86 site. Therefore, two additional soil borings were placed <br /> around former tank site TK1-86. <br /> 3.0 INVESTIGATION <br /> I <br /> �! Prior to drilling activities, a soil boring permit was <br /> obtained from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health t <br /> I Department. Soil borings .(SB1 through SB6) were drilled by <br /> Spectrum Explorat=ion, Inc., of Stockton, California, on September <br /> }, <br /> 20th, 23rd and 24th, 1991 (Figure 3) . Condor representatives <br /> were on site to direct the investigation, make field observations <br /> and collect soil samples. Harlin Knoll of the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department was on site periodically to <br /> observe the drilling activities. <br /> C..., <br /> v <br /> 3.1 Soil Borings <br /> .. The borings were drilled using 6-inch O.D. hollow-stem <br /> continuous-flight augers. All soil borings were drilled to the <br /> estimated. capillary fringe at 50 feet below the ground surface. <br /> Soil samples were collected at 'i-foot intervals using a <br /> `TC61ifornia-modified split-spoon sampler fitted with clean br ss <br /> i..
