AEMC reported the tank was in good
condition with no apparent holes or stress fractures.
3 Approximately 12 cubic yards of soil were excavated during the
tank removal. The soils appeared to have no discoloration or
petroleum odor. One soil sample (SP-1) was collected by AEMC
i
` from the center of the excavation floor, beneath the former tank
i` location. j
Laboratory analyses of SP-1, reported by AEMC, indicated
x
that diesel and motor oil were dpt(!cted at 42 mg/kg and 610
' ? mg/kg, respectively. Total lead was detected at 150.3 mg/kg.
AEMC concluded that except for the relatively high total lead
concentration, the analytical results do not indicate evidence of
gasoline contamination.
On August 25, 1986, at the direction of the San Joaquin
County.--Environmental-Health-Department,-AEMC_removed_an
additional 6 cubic yards of soil from the excavation in an` effort
to remove the motor oil, diesel and lead contamination, .
