The chemical make up of the vapor produced at the
site has changed with vapor extraction The light hydrocarbons
have been depleted and the heavier hydrocarbons are now the
dominate hydrocarbons being produce Because of this at is no
longer practical to perform on site analysis with the 10550
COLLECTING LABORATORY SAMPLES
Influent Sample
The influent sample is obtained from a sample port located after
the system vacuum pump before the carbon canisters Sterile poly
tubing is used to attach a 1 liter tedlar bag, fatted with a
special septum valve and tubing bib, to the sample port . The
sample port is on the pressure side of the pump and therefore the
bag will fill without need of a pump. Once the tedlar bag is
filled, its valve is closed and locked and the appropriate label
as placed on the tedlar bag
Effluent Sample
page 2 of R604 , 01/19/93
