UPDATE 30 11-11-94
40 SITE ACTIVITIES
WEGE personnel visited and/or monitored the site on August 17,
and 31, September 19, October 10, and 12 , and November 7, 1994
During the August 17 , 31, October 12, and November 7, 1994 visits
the vapor extraction system (VES) was sampled and the results
were used to update the Fate Modeling presented with this report,
see Appendix A The scheduled October 10, 1994 site visit
obtained quarterly ground water samples as requested in the
August 29, 1994 SJCPHS letter These samples were chain of
custody delivered to American Environmental Network, Inc (AEN)
for analysis using EPA method 5030/8020, TPHg/BTEX. Laboratory
results indicated the absence of gasoline range hydrocarbons and
BTEX' s in the ground water with the exception of MW5 (being used
for vapor extraction) which contained 0 . 1 mg/L gasoline range
hydrocarbons and 2 ug/L Xylenes The vapor stream contained only
minor gasoline range hydrocarbons and Xylenes at 0 .4 mg/L and 6
ug/L respectively, see Tables 1 and 3 and Appendix B - Laboratory
Reports and Field Notes
RESULTS - WATER
GROUND WATER GRADIENT
The ground water gradient maps have been produced from
measurements obtained on August 17, October 12 , and November 7 ,
1994 , see Figures 4A, 42 and 4C
Figure 4A, August 17 , 1994 depth to water measurements were
obtained with the vacuum system on These measurements indicate
a discharge to the area, with a basin forming at MWS, due in part
to vapor extraction removal of water vapor
Figure 4B, October 12 , 1994 depth to water measurements were also
obtained with the vacuum system on These measurements show a
potentiometric low valley forming from MW3 towards MW5 (the area
of greatest vacuum influence) Overall depth to water
measurements indicate that ground water discharge is still
occurring to the area
Figure 4C, November 7, 1994 depth to water measurements were also
obtained with the vacuum system on These measurements show a
potentiometr.ic high at vapor extraction well MW5 Overall depth
to water measurements indicate that ground water discharge is
still occurring with flow direction (gradient) to the east, see
Table 2 and Appendix B
TOTAL PETROLEUM HYDROCARBONS
Float.inProduct -
No floating product has ever been observed an any of the
monitoring wells or borings at this site
page2
