El
Dorado Street., Stockton, California.
Dear Mr. Margowski:
As von: requested Western Geo-Engineers (WEGE) sampled the aerated
.oil piles on May 25, 1990. During this site visit depth to
ground water was also measured in the four existing monitor wells.
A ground water gradient map developed from these readings shows a
similar gradient as defined in our Status Report #2, dated
February 26, 1990, see Figure 4C. All eight soil samples of the
aerated soil are below detection limits, see Figure 3 and Table 2.
Soil contamination, gasoline range hydrocarbonse exists to 15 feet
below the surface beneath the aastern and center pump dispersing
islands. Soil contaminatior associated with the tank excavation
is gasoline range hyt'rocarbcâ–ş'iis to the :;0 foot depth; ground water
is encountered at approximately 47 feet below the surface.
SOIL AND GROUND WATER SAMPLING PROCEDURES
All samples were obtained by a qualified geologist working
directly under the supervision of California Registered Geologist
#3037. 11he samples were collected, preserved, labeled and chain
of Custody hard delivered to ChemTech Analytical Laboratories,
3017 Kilgore Road #110, Rancho Cordova, CA 95742 (916-635-3962) .
ChemTech is a State of California certified lab (#359) . All
samples obtained from the borings and monitor wells were analyzed
using the following EPA and DOHS methods: 5030 for extraction,
8015-TPN, and 8020/602-BTEX. Since initial sampling showed that
TEL and EDB did not exist at this site these analyses were not
carried on for thio sampling.
Soil samples were obtained from the aerated soil piles by hand
augeri.ng a 4" diameter hole then obtaining the sample by hand
driving a 2"x6" sterile brass sleeve that has been inserted into a
barrel sampler attached to rod extensions and a slam hammer, all
samples came from the 2 foot level of the piles, see Figure 3.
ti
1
