y
fill that was placed from the 10 foot depth to the 25 foot depth,
in the less permeable silts of the vadose zone.
Vacuum influence measurements taken at wells EX and P1 indicate
_ "- _that the vacuum extraction- from MW1 and MW5 will influence the
vadose zone.
air injection into wells MW2, MW4, MW6, P1 and EX does not
o have accelerated the recovery of hydrocarbon vapors, but
be forming a pressure high at those wells that should
ent the migration encroachment of other offsite plumes that
e located in the area to the north and northwest of the site
0 o this site.
Ground water beneath the site, located at monitor wells MW3 and
MW5 have been drastically reduced in contaminate levels.
With the increase in ambient temperatures, the concentrations in
the vapor stream has increased.
CONCLUSIONS
1. Ground water contamination has been drastically reduced via
vapor extraction.
2. Vapor extraction has created a potentiometric low at the
ground water wells being utilized for vapor extraction (MW1 and
MW5) .
3. A total of 6,891.9 pounds of gasoline range hydrocarbons have
been removed from the vadose zone and ground water beneath this
site.
4. Vapor extraction on wells P1 and EX has depleted those areas
of recoverable gasoline range vapors.
5. Tk.0 "Cyclo-Purge" unit can be utilized as a moisture drop out
that removes from the vapor stream the majority of water vapor
with minor hydrocarbons. Utilized as a carbon scrub rejuventor
has '-e effective in a 45-50% removal of the absorbed weight
prodv ad from vapor extraction.
6. Ground water elevations are continuing to decline.
a RECOMMENDATIONS
1. To continue quarterly ground water monitoring, update status
r
reports will be submitted twice yearly.
page 13
a
