Worporation <br /> 1433 North Rlarket Boulevard <br /> Sacramento, CA 95834-1943 <br /> • 1�_' Tel 916 928 3300 <br /> *he Fax 926 928 3341 <br /> �tl*oup,.,IV24 <br /> f��$ 2`/ A Meinber of The 2 t Group <br /> October 17, 2000 <br /> Project 911-011 1B <br /> Mr Ed Ralston e <br /> Tosco Marketing Company <br /> 1380 Lead Hill Road <br /> Roseville, California 95661 <br /> Re Additional Site Assessment Work Plan <br /> Tosco (Former Unocal) Service Station 94409 <br /> 1502 North El Dorado <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Ralston <br /> u <br /> This letter, prepared by IT Corporation (IT) on behalf of Tosco Marketing Company (Tosco), <br /> presents a work plan describing proposed site assessment work at the site referenced above ry <br /> (Figure 1) The purpose of this work is to define the vertical and horizontal extent of gasoline <br /> hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater at the subject site This will be accomplished by installing <br /> four groundwater momtonng wells (MW-5 through MW-8) <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located on the northeast corner of Harding Way and El Dorado Street in Stockton, <br /> California The site is a former Unocal service station that retailed gasoline and diesel fuel <br /> On April 7, 1999, three USTs were removed from the site during UST divestment activities The <br /> tanks were 10,000-gallon capacity with two containing gasoline and one containing diesel The <br /> USTs were removed by John's Excavating of Santa Rosa, California The UST excavation was <br /> approximately 35 feet by 40 feet by 15 feet deep Six soil samples were collected from beneath <br /> the removed USTs on April 7, 1999 The excavation was deepened beneath the center of the <br /> western tank to approximately 18 feet below ground surface (bgs) and one additional soil sample <br /> was collected to confirm that petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil was removed All soil <br /> samples from the base of the UST excavation were non-detect for petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> Soil samples were collected from beneath the removed dispensers and associated piping on April <br /> 8, 1999 During additional excavation activities unidentified fiberglass piping was encountered <br /> The piping was removed and soil samples were collected at the direction of Mr Michael Infuma <br /> �'t of SJCPHS/EHD <br />
