The purpose of this report is to document activities performed in
association with the removal of the underground storage tanks (USTs),product dispenser
• island, underground product piping and obviously impacted soil at the site referenced
above.
SITE BACKGROUND
The site is located on the northeast corner of Harding Way and El Dorado Street in
Stockton, California. The site is a former Unocal service station that retailed gasoline and
diesel fuel.
UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL AND EXCAVATION
ACTIVITIES
On April 7, 1999,three USTs were removed from the site during UST divestment
activities. The tanks were 10,000-gallon capacity with two containing gasoline and one
containing diesel. The USTs were removed by John's Excavating of Santa Rosa,
California. Mr. Mike Inf ima with San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (SCEHD) observed the removal of the USTs. Upon removal, the USTs and
product piping were visually inspected for evidence of failure and were found to be in
good condition with no holes, cracks, or signs of leaks. The removed USTs were
transported by Ecology Control Industries to Erickson Inc. of Richmond, California, on
April 7, 1999. Disposal manifests are included in Attachment A.
1,
