SCOPE OF WORK <br /> At the request of ExxonMobil Refining and Supply Company (ExxonMobil), ETIC Engineering, <br /> Inc. (ETIC) has prepared this work plan for the destruction of seven groundwater monitoring <br /> wells (MW1 through MW7) and two vapor extraction wells (VEW1 and VEW2) at Former <br /> Exxon Retail Site (RS) 7-0137 located at 1605 South El Dorado Street in Stockton, California <br /> (Figure 1). <br /> This work plan was prepared pursuant to the Regional Water Quality Control Board no further <br /> action required letter dated 6 February 2001 for Former Exxon RS 7-0137, 1605 South El <br /> Dorado Street, Stockton, California. A copy of the letter is included as Appendix A. The <br /> locations of the wells are shown on Figure 1. <br /> The scope of work for the destruction of the wells is outlined below. <br /> r.. • Acquire permits for the destruction of groundwater monitoring wells (MW 1 through <br /> MW7) and vapor extraction wells (VEWl and VEW2) from San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services (SJCPHS). <br /> t.. <br /> • Properly destroy all onsite and offsite groundwater monitoring wells (MWI through <br /> MW7) and vapor extraction wells (VEW1 and VEW2). <br /> • Prepare a letter report summarizing field activities for the destruction of the onsite <br /> and offsite wells and prepare Department of Water Resources (DWR) well <br /> destruction forms for submittal. <br /> SITE SAFETY PLAN AND PERMITS <br /> Fieldwork performed by ETIC personnel or subcontractors of ETIC will be performed in <br /> accordance with a site safety plan prepared for the site. The site safety plan will describe basic <br /> safety requirements for the work to be done at the site. All ETIC personnel and subcontractors <br /> of ETIC working at the site will be required to read and understand the site safety plan before <br /> work begins. A copy of the site safety plan will be kept at the work site and will be available for <br /> reference by appropriate parties during the work. The ETIC geologist who observes drilling <br /> activities will be the acting Site Safety Officer. <br /> A portion of the work will be performed in Center Street and South El Dorado Street during the <br /> destruction of street wells MW6 and MW7. As MW6 and MW7 are located in City of Stockton <br /> w <br /> right-of-way, encroachment permit number 66373 was acquired on 12 March 2001 from the City <br /> of Stockton Public Works Department (CSPWD). The application for this encroachment permit <br /> included the preparation of a traffic control plan, which will be both reviewed and implemented <br /> in the field. The revocable permit number 93-02 and associated bond obtained during the <br /> installation of wells MW6 and MW7 is current and will be used during the destruction of wells <br /> MW6 and MW7.
