The borings were advanced using an 8-
inch-diameter hollow-stem auger. A total of 60 feet of auger was utilized in each boring,
with a final sample drive of 18 inches achieving a total depth of 61-1/2 feet along the
30-degree angle. The actual vertical depth penetrated by the borings was approximately
53 feet below existing grade. Soil samples collected from
Replacement
two soil borings w
ere
analyzed for TPPH as gasoline, BTEX, EDB, EDC, and total lead. Please refer to Aegis'
esults Repor
"Pre-Tank Repfaeeent Site Assessment Rt,"dated March 6, 1991- The
n analyses indicated trace concentrations of: TPH as gasoline, BTEX, total lead
, and EDC
in all samples except one. One sample, 61-8, in boring one, at approximately 34.6 feet
P vertically below surface beneath the existing middle tank, reported 16,000 parts-per-
million (ppm) TPPH as gasoline and benzene at 63
of any of the soil samples submitted for analysis, ppm' EDB was net detected in any
2.3 Water WeU acrd Sensitive Rece for Sury
e
A well search was done on July 17, 1991, in order to locate all wells within 2,000 feet of
t the Exxon service station site. No
subways or surface waters are within 1,000 feet of the site.
The water source for this area is supplied by a California water service; a public utility.
The first encountered water at the site is classified as a Class Il aquifer per the
SJCPHS/EHD . Three observation wells are located on site and no free product is
present.
i
a
t y'
kA -
L1
93-0446.RRi' - - -
•3-
