REMEDIAL ACTION PLAN <br /> 1605 South EI Dorado Street Stocldon Cahfomia <br /> 6 Environmental Data Resources, Inc (EDR) of Southport, Connecticut performed a radius <br /> map report for Aegis on September 3, 1993 The EDR report mapped sites with potential <br /> or existing environmental liabilities within a 1-mile radius of the Exxon site by searching <br /> specified government databases This report is included as Appendix B Valley Lumber, <br /> located immediately upgradient of the site, is listed as storing hazardous materials <br /> However, no UST were reported on the site <br /> On October 11, 1993, Aegis personnel reviewed the SJCPHS/EHD underground storage <br /> tank files on surrounding properties Two neighboring sites have reported Underground <br /> Storage Tank Unauthorized Releases (Figure 1) The Stockton Unified School District <br /> has filed an unauthorized release report on behalf of Edison High School, located at 1425 <br /> South Center Street, northwest of the Exxon site (Figure 1) The report was filed based <br /> on soil samples collected from beneath two UST removed from the site in <br /> November 1990 a 500 gallon leaded gasoline UST and a 10,000 gallon diesel UST <br /> Center Street Parts (formerly Kilpatrick Bakery) at 1717 South Center Street has been <br /> cited for the abandonment or improper closure of a UST The 1000-gallon UST, located <br /> south of the Exxon site, was removed on December 6, 1990 Petroleum odors were <br /> noted in the excavation at a depth of eleven feet Both the Stockton Unified School <br /> District and Center Street Parts are required to perform an investigation to define the <br /> extent of hydrocarbon impact in soil and groundwater As of October 11 , 1993, neither <br /> property owner has submitted a report to the SJCPHSIEHD documenting such an <br /> investigation <br /> 4 0 REMEDIATION FEASIBILITY <br /> Remediation alternatives for this site have been considered during previous <br /> investigations Two vapor extraction wells (VEW-1 and VEW-2) were installed on <br /> tMay 3, 1993 Based on the pilot-scale soil vapor extraction test performed on <br /> May 12, 1993 (see section 4 3), this technology appears viable for remediation at this <br /> site The following sections include discussions of the remediation objective and suitability <br /> of vapor extraction to meet these objectives <br /> 4 1 Remediation Objective <br /> The overall objective of remediation at this site is to reduce the potential for degradation <br /> of the underlying groundwater and reduce future liabilities associated with the site To <br /> meet this objective, this RAP proposes soil vapor extraction to reduce the mass of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater beneath the Exxon site <br /> 91 044A RAP 4 <br /> I <br />
