1 <br /> I INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of ExxonMobil Refining and Supply Company (formerly Exxon Company, <br /> ' U S A ), ETIC Engineering, Inc (ETIC) has prepared this soil bonng results and request for case <br /> closure report for former Exxon Retail Site (RS) 7-0137, located at 1605 South El Dorado Street, <br /> Stockton, California This report documents (1) the results of soil and groundwater samples <br /> collected from five confirmation soil borings and (2) the compilation of historical site data in <br /> support of a request for case closure <br /> ' 1.1 SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br /> Former Exxon RS 7-0137 is situated in southern Stockton, approximately 0 6 miles east of <br /> ' Interstate 5 at an elevation of approximately 16 feet above mean sea level (Figure 1) The <br /> subject site is currently an active service station (EZ Mini-Mart) with one 20,000-gallon <br /> double-walled fiberglass underground storage tank (UST) divided into two compartments that <br /> ' have 60 and 40 percent of the total volume capacity <br /> Information regarding the history of station operation at 1605 South El Dorado Street was <br /> ' obtained through a telephone interview of a staff member at the City of Stockton Planning <br /> Department (CSPD), conducted by EA Engineering, Science, and Technology (EA) in May <br /> ' 1998 Based on the telephone interview, the subject property has been issued only one use <br /> permit and was initially a Regal service station with USTs in 1954 (EA 1998) From 1954 to <br /> 1988, title information for the service station could not be released by the CSPD The site was <br /> purchased by Exxon in July 1988 with the existing building, canopy, pump islands, and three <br /> 10,000-gallon single-walled steel UST's containing regular leaded, regular unleaded, and <br /> premium unleaded fuels, which were removed in 1992 The service station was inactive between <br /> ' 1990 and 1992 The existing 20,000-gallon UST was installed in approximately 1993 Exxon <br /> sold the property to Nathan Due in April 1994 The property is currently owned by Karamjit S <br /> Grewal et al of Turlock, California <br /> During previous investigations, seven groundwater monitoring wells (MW1—MW7) and two <br /> vapor extraction wells (VEW1 and VEW2) were installed, and a vapor extraction system was <br /> ' installed and operated at the site Figure 2 shows the locations of the station features and wells, <br /> which are sampled quarterly <br /> 1.2 SCOPE OF WORK PERFORMED <br /> The scope of work documented in this report, which includes confirmation soil borings and data <br /> ' compilation in support of case closure, is presented below <br /> 1.2 1 Confirmation Soil Borings <br /> In accordance with the October 1998 Work Plan for Confirmation Soil Borings in Support of a <br /> Request for Case Closure submitted by EA (EA 1998), and amendments made in the Public <br /> Health Services of San Joaquin County, Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) approval- <br /> , <br /> F I Projeds%70137�[vWcw 1 W p C10sua e 1 10650137utcv doc 1 <br /> I} <br />
