The
CUF agreed with the EHD that the responsible party (RP) should implement active remediation
to achieve water quality gals (WQOs) in a timely manner.
Despite the facility being badly damaged by a recent fire, the electrical lines have been installed
along with the dual phase extraction (DPE) piping . The natural gas line and discharge permits
are still pending. The consultant is considering operating only the vapor extraction portion of the
DPE system to reduce operating costs in view of the $35, 000-reimbursement limitation set by
the CUF for the 2011 -2012 year; a formal proposal for the reduced scope of remediation has not
yet been received by the EHD .
Questions or comments should be directed to Harlin Knoll at (209) 468-3442 or to Nuel
Henderson at (209) 468-3436.
Sincerely,
Harlin Knoll , REHS Nuel Henderson , PG
Senior Registered Environmental Engineering Geologist
Health Specialist
2011 Five-Year Review Update Response CUF Claim No 14840 . doc
