' 25 August 2005
AGE-NC Project No 01-0815
Services (DHS)-certified analytical laboratory, for analysis The samples were analyzed for
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
' Method 8015M, and
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) and the fuel additives methyl
tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETRE),
tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME),tertiary butanol (TBA), ethylene dibromide(EDB)and
1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B
1
3.0. FINDINGS
' Ground water elevation, flow direction, and gradient were determined from field data collected on
17 May 2005 The contaminant impact to groundwater was quantified from the laboratory analytical
data
r3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
' At the time of the May 2005 sampling event, depths to ground water ranged from 28 00 feet(MW-2)
to 28 80 feet (MW-3) below the tops of the well casings Ground water elevation averaged
approximately 17 32 feet below mean sea level (MSL), a increase of 2 45 feet since the last
monitoring event in February 2005 (Table 1) During this monitoring event, the ground water levels
in the wells were at least 3 feet below the tops of the well screens, indicating that the wells are
screened properly to yield representative shallow ground water samples
' Ground water was inferred to be flowing towards the east-northeast under a hydraulic gradient of
0 0016 foot per foot (ft/ft) Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations as measured
' on 17 May 2005
3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-1 through MW-3 at a
' maximum concentration of 3,800,000 micrograms per liter(µg/1) in the sample collected from well
MW-3
' BTEX compounds were detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-1 through
MW-3 at maximum concentrations of 38,000 µg/1 benzene, 370,000 µ.g/1 toluene, 460,000 Pg/l
' Advanced GeoEnvironmenta[,Inc
I
