15 March 2005
AGE-NC ProlectNo 01-0815
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method'8015M, and
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) and the fuel additives methyl
' tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE),
tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME),tertiary butanol(TBA),ethylene dibromide(EDB),and
1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B
' 3.0. FINDINGS
Ground water elevation, flow direction, and gradient were determined from field data collected on
117 November 2004 The contaminant impact to ground water was quantified from the laboratory
analytical data
' 3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
. At the time of the November 2004 sampling event, depths to ground water ranged from 32 43 feet
(MW-2)to 33 32 feet(MW-3)below the tops of the well casings Ground water elevation averaged
' approximately 21 81 feet below mean sea level (MSL), a decrease of 0 98 feet since the last
monitoring event in August 2004 (Table 1) During this monitoring event, the ground water levels
in the wells were at least 7 8 feet below the tops of the well screens, indicating that the wells are
' screened properly to yield representative shallow ground water samples
Ground water was inferred to be flowing towards the southeast under a hydraulic gradient of
' 0 003 foot per foot(ft/ft) Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations as measured on
17 November 2004
3'2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' TPH-g was detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-1 through MW-3 at a
maximum concentration of 200,000 micrograms per liter (µg/l) in the sample collected from well
MW-1 '
' BTEX compounds were detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-1 through
MW-3 at maximum concentrations of 21,000 µg/1 benzene in well MW-1 and 15,000 µg/l toluene,
' 3,000 µg/l ethylbenzene, and 20,500 µg11 total xylenes in well MW-3
Advanced GeoEnvvonmental,Inc
