I
I15 May 2004
i AGE-NC Prod ect No 01-0815
' 2 2 1 Well Monitoring and Evacuation
The depth to ground water in each monitoring well was measured from the top of the well casing to
' the nearest 0 01-foot utilizing a SoIinst water level meter Ground water elevation in each well was
calculated by subtracting the measured depth to ground water from the surveyed casing elevation
(Table 3)
After water levels were measured,approximately 6 5 gallons of water(a minimum of 3 casing-water
volumes per well) were purged from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3 using a disposable
' plastic bailers Ground water temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at regular intervals
during purging using an Oakton water analyzer Field sheets and data are Included in Appendix C
Purged water was stored on-site in properly labeled, 55-gallon DOT-approved drums
I
2 2 2 Collection and Analysis of Ground Water Samples
Water samples were collected from each purged well using a disposable plastic bailer after allowing
. the wells to achieve a minimum 80% recovery of the pre-purge water volume Each water sample
was transferred into laboratory-supplied 40-m1 volatile organic analysis(VOA)vials containing 0 5
ml of hydrochloric acid as preservative After collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed
' in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody to CTEL, a California Department of
Health Services-certified analytical laboratory, for analysis The samples were analyzed for
• TPH-g in accordance with EPA Method 8015M,
• BTEX and MTBE in accordance with EPA Method 8260B,
• Fuel additives in accordance with EPA Method 8260B
1
3.0. FINDINGS
Ground water elevation, flow direction, and gradient were determined from field data collected on
' 30 March 2004 The contaminant impact to soil and ground water was quantified from the laboratory
analytical data
' 31 STRATIGRAPHY
Generally, an orange-brown, dry, clayey silt (fill material),was encountered from surface grade to
approximately 6 feet bsg Orange brown to brown, dry, silts, clayey silts and silty sands were
1 Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc
1
