03 January 2005
AGE-NC Project No. 01-0815
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8015M; and
0 Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) and the fuel additives methyl
tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE),
tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME),tertiary butanol(TBA),ethylene dibromide(EDB),and
1,2-di chloro ethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 826013.
2.3. PURGE WATER DISPOSAL
On 22 October 2004,American Valley Waste Oil, Inc. of Dclhi, California pumped approximately
100 gallons of purge water from drums on-site.A copy of the non-hazardous waste manifest can be
found in Appendix C.
` 3.0. FINDINGS
Ground water elevation, flow direction, and gradient were determined from field data collected on
30 August 2004. The contaminant impact to ground water was quantified from the laboratory
F analytical data.
3.1. GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
At the time of the August 2004 sampling event, depths to ground water ranged from 31.54 feet
(MW-2)to 32.15 feet(MW-3)below the tops of the well casings. Ground water elevation averaged
. approximately 20.83 feet below mean sea level (MSL), a decrease of 1.47 feet since the last
monitoring event in June 2004 (Table 1). During this monitoring event, the ground water levels in
the wells were at least 7.15 feet below the tops of the well screens, indicating that the wells are
+-• screened properly to yield representative shallow ground water samples.
Ground water was inferred to be flowing toward the east-southeast under an average hydraulic
gradient of 0.005 foot/foot (ft/ft). Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations as
measured on 30 August 2004.
3.2. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
LM TPH-g was detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-1 through MW-3 at a
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
i■.
