i <br /> SUMMARY OF WORK PERFORMED <br /> QUICK-N-SAVE#1 <br /> 1901 South El Dorado Street, Stockton, California <br /> iThe following is a brief outline of work completed to date for the site <br /> O An Interim Work Plan, dated 22 March 2000, for the excavation and disposal of <br /> Ihydrocarbon-impacted soil, was prepared by AGE and approved by San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services - Environmental Health Department (PHS-EHD) The objective of <br /> the interim remediation was to remove hydrocarbon-impacted soil from the floor and <br /> sidewalls of the former underground storage tank (UST) excavation prior to installation of <br /> new USTs <br />' • On 20 April 2000, approximately 175 cubic yards of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil <br /> were excavated from the former UST area The excavated soil was stockpiled on-site <br /> pending the results of laboratory analysis of soil samples Soil samples were collected from <br /> Ithe floor and sidewalls of the excavation and from stockpiled soil Ten soil samples were <br /> submitted for laboratory analysis The work was performed in accordance with the above <br /> referenced work plan <br /> • On 03 May 2000, approximately 325 cubic yards of soil were loaded, transported and <br /> disposed at Forward Landfill in Manteca, California In addition to the 175 cubic yards of <br /> soil removed during the interim remediation procedures, 150 cubic yards of soil were <br /> excavated during removal of the USTs in October 1999 <br /> On 24 July 2000, AGE submitted Excavation and Sampling Report to the PHS-EHD <br /> documenting the remediation work referenced above AGE concluded that the highest <br /> concentrations ofpetroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline occurred near the eastern portionof the <br /> former UST excavation Lower concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline were <br /> detected in soil samples recovered from the southern portion of the former UST excavation <br /> Based on laboratory reports and the amount of soil removed, AGE calculated that <br /> I approximately 397 gallons of gasoline were removed in the soil excavated dunng the UST <br /> removal and interim remediation on the site <br /> AGE is awaiting approval of aPreliminary Site Assessment Work Plan, submitted to the PHS-EHD <br />' on 25 October 2000 The proposed work includes advancement of soil probe borings and soil and <br /> ground water sampling to assess the vertical and horizontal extent of petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> contamination near the former UST area No further field work has been performed on the site since <br /> 03 May 2000 <br /> f <br />
