Mr.Wayne Dietz July 14, 2008
2154 S. El Dorado Street Investors, a California Limited Partnership Page 6 of 8
LUFT 5 Metals were not detected above the laboratory reporting limit in groundwater collected
from six(6)sample locations(GW 1, GW-2,GW-3,GW-5, GW-6 and GW-8).
EPA Method 8260b-TPH as Gasoline and VOCs(including fuel additives and lead scavengers)
High concentrations of GRO (i.e., gasoline) were detected in groundwater at seven (7) sample
locations (GW-2, GW-4, GW-6, GW-7, GW-8, GW-9, and GW-10). The detected concentrations
of GRO exceed the ESL of 210 µg/L at all 7locations. GRO was not detected above the laboratory
reporting limit in groundwater collected from three(3)sample locations(GW 1,GW-3 and GW-5).
Low to very high concentrations of VOCs were detected in groundwater at seven(7) sample
locations(GW-2,GW-4,GW-6,GW-7, GW-8, GW-9, and GW-10). The detected concentrations
of VOCs exceed the ESLs at all 7 locations except at GW-2. VOCs were not detected above the
laboratory reporting limit in groundwater collected from three(3)sample locations(GW 1, GW-3
and GW-5). The detected VOCs are indicative of significant subsurface gasoline product release(s).
EPA Method 8270 - Semi Volatile Organic Compounds (SVOCs)
Low to high concentrations of SVOCs were detected in groundwater at all ten(10)sample locations
(GW-1 through GW-10). The detected concentrations of SVOCs exceed the ESLs at all 10 sample
locations. A trace level of naphthalene was detected in the trip blank suggesting slight laboratory
cross contamination but this does not appear to have significantly affected the analytical results.
Investigation Derived Waste
On July 1, 2008 RSI Drilling utilized a CME-75 hollow stem auger rig to complete the soil
boring at GW-2. This method generated approximately two and one half(2.5) 55-gallon drums
of soil cuttings. On July 2,2008 RSI Drilling utilized a truck mounted solid stem auger rig to
complete the soil boring at GW-10. This method generated less than one(1) 55-gallon drum of
soil cuttings. ROKEN collected a soil samples from the cuttings and then sealed and labeled the
drums pending disposal. ROKEN collected a soil sample from GW-2 soil boring cuttings and
submitted the sample to the laboratory for the same sample analyses as listed above for
groundwater. The results were as follows:
DRO and MORO were not detected above the laboratory method reporting limit. The detected
LUFT metals with applicable ESL are listed below:
Metal Concentration ESL(Residential SoiDS
Chromium 57 mg/Kg 8 mg/Kg(Cr VI) and 750 mg/Kg (Cr III)
Lead 9.2 mg/Kg 200 mg/Kg
Nickel 48 mg/Kg 150 mg/Kg
Zinc 63 mg/Kg 600 mg/Kg
s Table B-1. 1 Shallow Soil Screening Levels(<3m bgs),Residential Land Use(groundwater is not current or
potential drinking water resource),Screening for Environmental Concerns at Sites with Contaminated Soil and
Groundwater,California Regional Water Quality Control Board,San Francisco Bay Region,INTERIM FINAL—
November 2007(Revised May 2008).
