Hunter and
Associates for the above referenced site.
In their report Hunter and Associates conclude that concentrations of contamination and depths encountered
is contrary to what would be expected if the underground storage tanks were the source. PHS/EHD concurs
with this conclusion. Another source for on site contamination which has not been investigated is the
dispenser island. Concentrations of soil and groundwater contamination coincide with what would be
expected if the source of contamination was the dispenser island.
i
PHS/EHD staff has reviewed the tank removal data and has discovered that there are no analytical results from
beneath the dispenser island. At this time there is no data to confirm or deny a dispenser leak as the source
of the soil and groundwater contamination present at this site.
1
PHS/EHD requires a work plan which will provide data to determine if the contamination at this site is the
result of a dispenser leak. The workplan shall be submitted to this agency for approval and implemented by
November 1, 1995.
For further information, please contact Steven Sasson at (209) 468-3459.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Steven Sasson, Senior REHS Diane M.
